How we got here

We started with one van and a phone number in 2011, moving students and flat-shares around Kilburn and Camden. The work came almost entirely by word of mouth, and it still largely does — 95% of our customers came from someone who had used us before.

That number is the whole business model. A referral-led removals firm cannot afford a bad day, because a bad day costs it the next ten jobs. It is why we would rather turn down work we cannot do properly than take the booking and hope.

Why the pricing looks different

Most removals quotes are a number with nothing behind it. Ours is built from an engine that records every line and the arithmetic that produced it — distance bands, crew hours, floors, lift or no lift, carry distance, parking, congestion charge, the lot. You can open any quote we have ever issued and see exactly how the total was reached.

That transparency is not generosity. It removes the single most common argument in this trade: the one on the day, on the pavement, about why the price went up.

What FORS accreditation means

FORS is the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme — an independent audit of vehicles, drivers, maintenance records and safety procedures. Plenty of London buildings will not let a non-accredited operator through the door. We keep it current because central London clients ask for it, and because the audit itself catches things we would otherwise miss.

The two free seats

Every van keeps two passenger seats free at no charge. It sounds like a small thing. In practice it is the detail customers mention most: no second taxi, no meeting the van at the other end, and someone in the room to say where the sofa goes.
